Created in November 2023, Rocky Tales focuses on creating Canadian Content that inspires healthy living, outdoor exploration, and unique family adventures. What started with a mama searching for stories that reflected her son’s outdoor lifestyle grew into a creative vision: to craft imaginative books and products that celebrate the mountains, outdoor sports, spark curiosity, and encourage kids to explore the world around them.
Small stories, Big mountains
Founder, Sophia Gould, is an outdoor content creator and writer based in the Canadian Rockies. She holds a Masters degree in Communication and loves to snowboard with her young son, Sylas. This former Marketing & Sales Manager of Nakiska Ski Resort is a triple-certified instructor in snowboard, ski & telemark skiing.
Inspired by her son’s first days on the slopes, Sophia realized there were no children’s books that truly captured the magic of growing up in the Canadian Rockies. Blending her love for storytelling and snow sports, she set out to create Rok’n Crew — a series that encourages kids to dream big, get outside, and celebrate adventure from the very beginning.
